Colorful celebrations, reunions, delicacies, livelier markets, joyous family gatherings, laughter ... Here’s the most extensive period of celebration - DIWALI.

We all know that numerous festivals celebrated in our country symbolize diverse ethnicities and are an essential part of our acclaimed heritage. And so the “festival of lights” has its own astrological and cultural importance. But other than these ancient myths and folk stories, Diwali has much to do with a spark of ‘happiness’ that instantly creates memories to be cherished forever!

As kids we were always extra enthusiastic about Diwali, of course for some certain wacky reasons such as long vacations, mouth-watering dishes, our favorite toys, firecrackers, best-loved outfits and so forth. Different people celebrate it in their own way but there are some common themes or reasons behind this festive occasion i.e. the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness and hope over despair which also allows you to have a feeling of peace and joy.

Nowadays Diwali is a blend of modern twist along with conventional knowledge. Time has changed and it’s calling us to change as well. On a positive note, people are now more aware about environment safety and make an effort to protect surroundings. These days there’s a trend to celebrate ”Eco-friendly Diwali” which overall reduces environment effects and health hazards. Also, there are several NGO’s, organizations, and foundations which bring little happiness in the lives of people. These things are the need of the hour as they contribute to bring a difference to life!!

Everybody waits for an occasion to celebrate, ultimately spreading joy and laughter. However, it is such a blessing to have people around you to make life a celebration! And this is what can also help you to forget all your anxiety! To make every moment in life worth living and celebrating, every little joy is meant to be treasured.

Every festival has its own traditions in the backdrop, but what really matters is the spirit of festivity. Every year I embrace the occasion with utmost ebullience because regardless of all the mythological explanation one prefers, there is something more to it that I adore; reaffirmation of hope, a renewed commitment of friendship and benevolence, and a religiously sanctioned celebration of the simple and some not so simple- joys of life.

Good Wishes for a joyous Diwali filled with peace and prosperity! :)

The clouds above us come together and disperse;
The breeze in the courtyard departs and returns.
Life is like that, so why not relax?
Who can keep us from celebrating?
